We support many outdoor and natural history education efforts around the country, including the following friends.


Regenerative Design Institute: World leaders in sustainable landscape, permaculture, and community design. Based in Point Reyes Station, California.

Wildlife Associates: "Where the animals are the teachers". School programs that reach half a million children per year in the Bay Area. Half Moon Bay, California.

The Riekes Center for Human Enhancement: Cutting-edge mentoring in whole-person development through athletics, creative arts, and nature studies. Menlo Park, California.

Wilderness Awareness School: Jon Young started Wilderness Awareness School in 1983 and was directly involved with it for nearly 20 years. Wilderness Awareness School continues to administer Student Services for the Kamana Naturalist Training Program.

Wilderness Youth Project: A Santa Barbara, California based organization providing youth mentoring in wilderness and community skills.

Vermont Wilderness School: Hosts of the Art of Mentoring, a week-long experiential program investigating how to create dynamic learning cultures. Brattleboro, Vermont.

White Pine Programs: In coastal Maine, Dan Gardoqui, one of Jon's first students, leads this excellent school.
